RegistryHandler (Java Platform SE 6)

This documentation differs from the official API. Jadeite adds extra features to the API including: variable font sizes, constructions examples, placeholders for classes and methods, and auto-generated “See Also” links. Additionally it is missing some items found in standard Javadoc documentation, including: generics type information, “Deprecated” tags and comments, “See Also” links, along with other minor differences. interface RegistryHandler

public interface RegistryHandler

RegistryHandler is an interface used internally by the RMI runtime in previous implementation versions. It should never be accessed by application code.

Method Summary
`Registry`	`registryImpl(int port)` Constructs and exports a Registry on the specified port.
`Registry`	`registryStub(String host, int port)` Returns a "stub" for contacting a remote registry on the specified host and port.

Method Detail

registryImpl

public Registry registryImpl(int port)
                      throws RemoteException

Constructs and exports a Registry on the specified port. The port must be non-zero.

Parameters:: port - port to export registry on
Returns:: registry stub
Throws:: RemoteException - if a remote error occurs

registryStub

public Registry registryStub(String host,
                             int port)
                      throws RemoteException,
                             UnknownHostException

Returns a "stub" for contacting a remote registry on the specified host and port.

Parameters:: host - name of remote registry host; port - remote registry port
Returns:: remote registry stub
Throws:: RemoteException - if a remote error occurs; UnknownHostException - if unable to resolve given hostname
